Mary Ann Shacklett

Mary Ann Shacklett has been a resident of Lake County her entire life; she currently lives in Munster. She has been employed with Community Healthcare System for 30 years and is Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for the Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana, Inc. (CFNI). CFNI is the parent company of the three hospitals of Community Healthcare System: Community Hospital in Munster, St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago and St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart.

As the healthcare system’s primary financial executive, Mary Ann has been involved in the formation and development of several key projects that have helped to enhance the quality of life in Northwest Indiana including a surgery center, cardiology center, continuing care retirement community and a medically-based fitness center. 

Mary Ann has also been engaged in many of the healthcare system’s bond issues. Under her financial leadership the system’s Standard & Poor rating has been upgraded three times within the past six years, with a current rating of A-.

Mary Ann earned a bachelor of science degree in Management (Accounting) and a master’s with a concentration in Finance. She is also a C.P.A. She serves on the Indiana Hospital Association Council on Finance and the Indiana Northwest Business and Economics Advisory Board.
